CARBON FIBER LAMINATES

Carbon fiber laminates (1,5-15cm wide and 1,2–2,5mm thick) have tensile strength around 5 times higher than that of reinforcing steel and weight 5 times smaller than steel. They can be applied to concrete steel or wood.

APPLICATION PROCESS FOR CONCRETE

  1. Removal of loose concrete and surface cleaning

  2. Repair of corroded re-bars

  3. Leveling of the surface by grinding or using polymer mortar

  4. Application of the laminates using epoxy paste

APPLICATIONS

  • Improvement of the flexural capacity of beams, slabs and bridges without the addition of any extra load

  • Reinstatement of lost strength in flexural members due to reinforcement corrosion, impact load, earthquake or fire

  • Control excessive deflection or vibration of structures

  • Reduction of crack width
